We acquired the Shoppes of Atlantis on December 18, 2001. The
Center features six restaurant tenants, a fitness center, a live
theater and 15 complimentary retail, office, and medical office
tenants. The property is within 1/2 of a mile from JFK Hospital,
the largest hospital in Palm Beach County, which is completing
and construction of a 78 million dollar, 110 bed expansion.
Renovation Program
We performed a major upgrade of the common areas in 2002 including
installation of new irrigation system, addition of major new planting
at the entrances and in the planter areas, addition of curbing,
placement of festive lighting in the Lugustrum trees which extend
around the perimeter of the buildings, replacement of the existing
common area lighting with metal halide lighting, adding accent
uplighting for the six 20 foot tall Palm trees around the perimeter
of the building, touch up and brightening of the façade
and Spanish tile roof. We have added ten new first-rate tenants
since our acquisition including Wachovia Trust, Canterbury Investments,
Dr. John Biggs, Atlantis Playhouse Theater, the Wellness Institute,
Grumpie's Pizza, Payathai Restaurant, Quizno's Subs, Scheurer's
Chocolates, and Sky World Tanning.
